hordsen Customs started in 2008 as a DBA of Computer Aided Models Inc. and was incorporated as Thordsen Customs LLC in 2010. Both companies still share the same location in Diamond Springs, California.

Computer Aided Models Inc. was founded in 2000 by Alan Thordsen, a 25+ year veteran of the model making industry. Its mission is to provide contract prototyping and short-run production services for the medical, consumer product development, and firearms industries.

In 2008 the decision was made to design, patent, and market, our own products. Since Computer Aided Models Inc. (or CAM Inc.) is not a very sexy name for a consumer-focused enterprise, The name Thordsen Customs was taken out of mothballs from the pre 2008 economic crash days when Alan built custom motorcycles.

Since then, Thordsen Customs LLC has successfully produced and marketed several innovative products, first for the California Bullet Button restricted market and then for the broader national market.
