In 1983 the development of high capacity magazines for the M-16 platform led to the formation of MWG. This development process generated vital test data and experience with high-fiber content injection molding and spring engineering. A high-capacity magazine for the Ruger Mini-14 followed shortly after that.

MWG's unique engineering experience lead to other developments, including various magazines, with different capacities, for both the M-16 and Mini-14 platforms; a high capacity magazine for the Ruger 10-22, 7.62x39 AR-15 magazines, magazine pouches, dump pouches, molle mat, tactical rifle cases and other related products.

In addition to its products, MWG markets other high-quality magazines for many favorite weapons, including brands such as H&K, Mag-Pul, and others.

While MWG is best known for magazines and related products, MWG also markets various sights, mounts, and firearm accessories from a variety of respected manufacturers. MWG continues to expand both its manufactured line of products and high-quality firearm accessories from other manufacturers.
