ANTIQUES&ARTILLERY

Company Information:

Antiques&Artillery is a custom Cerakote and gun parts supplier.  We custom coat most of the parts available on our site.  We strive to offer fast and reliable customer service.  Our customers are the foundation of our business and nothing is more important to us than great customer service.

Our Cerakote Process:

The Cerakote process is a long and tedious system of removing oil from the part/item with a series of soaking, blasting and baking to guarantee all grease, oil or residue is removed prior to the coating process.  Antiques&Artillery take it a step further with a check system we use to verify each and every part has been thoroughly cleaned and residue free prior to Cerakoting.  After the Cerakote is sprayed, the parts are hung in a large oven and baked for several hours to cure.  Any friction or tight tolerance areas that were not Cerakoted are then blued and oiled.   Once all stages of the process are finalized the parts receive one last inspection.  If at any time during the process, a flaw/concern is discovered we restart the process from stage 1.  We strive to offer a highly functional and visually appealing part to install on your build.  Nothing but the best!

What is Cerakote:

Cerakote is a Polymer-Ceramic Composite coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Each of these properties is rigorously tested to guarantee that Cerakote products remain at the forefront of the ceramic coatings market. Cerakote ceramic coatings utilize state-of-the-art technology to out-perform any competitive coating in both laboratory settings and real world applications.

Our Findings:

Cerakote is extremely resistant to any chemical we have thrown at it!  We've used everything from brake cleaner, acetone, bore cleaner, to household cleaners and chemicals.

Impact/Drop durability is extremely high and take accidental falls/drops to concrete, wood, etc.

Wear and tear on high friction metal to metal parts will show signs of wear if a good lubricant is not used, such as Slip2000 EWL, or Rand CLP. Nano Lubricant.  We have developed a technique for battlewearing that has an added benefit of hardening the surface for additional wear resistance on these high friction parts like BCG's.

In a case where the Cerakote is scratched due to a drop or gouge, 9 times out of 10, the Cerakote will not be compromised down to bare metal and can be oiled and buffed to remove the blemish.
