Vulcan arms

There has been a public house on the site of the Vulcan Arms since the middle ages when smuggling was rife and secret tunnels connected the pub to the beach, 100 yards down the road. Today the tunnels are all long gone, and the pub has become a friendly hostelry for both the weary walker and the hungry traveller. Its relaxing interior, full of nooks and crannies, is an ideal location for anyone seeking an intimate atmosphere whilst a restaurant area caters for any special occasion. A log burner provides warmth and focus for cold winter evenings whilst summer days can be spent lazing on the patio or supping in the pub garden. Dogs and children are always welcome. Tea and coffee are always available.

We offer an extensive menu catering for those in need of a simple snack through to 3-course meals. Saturdays we host a carvery which we consider to be the best around, whilst on Sunday lunchtimes we offer Traditional Sunday Roast Dinners and Thursday nights are curry nights. Bookings are advisable and special occasions can be catered for.

Caravan Site For those wishing to stay over, we have a Caravan Club certified site adjacent to the pub, perfect for spending a weekend or more exploring this beautiful area of Suffolk. With walks for all abilities across the local commons and woodlands as well as nearby seaside villages and hamlets there is plenty to explore.

Friday nights are entertainment nights at the Vulcan. A variety of musical delights including local artists and musicians and even the landlords own band, The Symbolics, perform at the Vulcan. There is also an outdoor stage for summer entertainment.
