RapidPure

RapidPure was born out of my, John Ruprecht’s personal experience with contaminated well water. In 1985 while my wife Pam was pregnant with our son Scott, our family’s home well water, as well as the wells of my 59 neighbors, was found to be contaminated with PCB’s to such a level that wells were banned for human consumption. The contamination came from a dump site a short distance from our neighborhood.

The area was a community dump in the 1950’s and 1960’s. The contaminated wells came to light when our neighbor sold their home and the well failed to pass the potable water test.

John RuprechtA person then came forward and advised us that companies like Whirlpool, Red Arrow Sanitation and others dumped industrial waste at this community dump and some of the waste included 55 gallon drums of hazardous waste. The area was found to contain more than sixty 55 gallon drums of hazardous waste with PCB’s. The site was then labeled a Super Fund site and I became the neighborhood liaison to the Minnesota Pollution Control and the Responsible Parties.

The resolution to this situation was the installation of city water for the 60 effected homeowners. This experience created my personal interest in clean water and water filtration and my first venture into water filtration market.
