Plinker Tactical entered the market in 2011 with products developed and designed by tactical shooters. Our goal is to deliver .22 dedicated enhancements for sportsmen and professionals that meet or exceed the current state of the art designs of the traditional AR platform. Our products have been designed to work with the Smith & Wesson® M&P15-22®.

History

In 2010, Plinker Tactical came about as a concept among two dedicated hobbyists. The idea was, "How do I make my .22 look and feel like an AR-15?" This was a simple question to ask, but one that required thousands of hours of engineering and development to answer.

We looked at all of the .22 AR style rifles and magazines on the market and concluded that most simply did not meet the expectations or standards of serious hobbyists and professionals. Given the ever escalating expense of 5.56 ammunition, the development of a less expensive alternative became even more attractive.  Purely from an economics standpoint, it has become almost cost prohibitive to shoot 200-300 rounds from a standard AR. The problem with a .22 was that you couldn't train with it in the same way that you would a 5.56 because it looked and felt like an air soft gun.

To fix the problem, Plinker Tactical looked to its owners for some of the answers. Plinker Tactical is owned and operated by individuals who have extensive firearms manufacturing experience, NASCAR® engineering experience, and combat shooting experience.
