What is choke??

Choke is a narrowing, or constriction, of a shotgun barrel near the muzzle. The constriction of any given choke is the difference in thousands of an inch between the true bore diameter of the barrel and the internal diameter of the tightest portion of the choke. 

Simply put--the greater the constriction, the tighter the choke thus normally resulting in tighter more dense shot patterns. 

Why choke tubes??

Sportsmen know that different shooting situations require different degrees of choking. Chokes that are right for skeet are not just right for trap. Chokes required for shooting quail are useless for shooting ducks. Choke tubes have been around for over 200 years and until recently, the only way to overcome the above choking problem was to have more than one gun, or to have another barrel, or several barrels for one gun. The average shooter will find this very expensive and cumbersome. 

CCT offers a system of interchangeable choke tubes for use in your single or double barrel shotgun. this includes after market installation choke tubes and replacement tubes for major firearms companies' factory installed tube systems. We provide the standard flush mounted tubes for lead shot, knurled short extended tubes for sporting clays as well as our "super steel extended tubes for steel shot" and "special purpose choke tubes". 

Our special purpose choke tubes are designed for the sportsman who wants "that little bit more". All special purpose tubes are extended tubes and manufactured specifically for: turkey shooters (hunting the real feathered bird), card shooting sportsman, rifled tubes for shotgun slugs and our special "blank" tubes which a qualified gunsmith can adapt for any special purpose.

All colonial choke tubes are manufactured totally within the USA and only the finest US materials are utilized. All tubes are manufactured from solid steel bar stock--no tubing is used. DUE TO THE EXTREMELY TIGHT CONSTRICTION OF ALL SPECIAL PURPOSE TUBES, THEY SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR STEEL SHOT. ADDITIONALLY, STEEL SHOT SHOULD NOT BE USED IN ANY FLUSH FITTING OR SPORTING CLAYS CHOKE TUBE (SILVER/GOLD COLOR).
